This privacy policy serves as information for clients and potential clients about the principles of processing their personal data by attorneys, in connection with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (hereinafter “GDPR”).
These principles explain, in particular, what personal data we process, for what purpose the processing of personal data occurs, the legal basis for their processing, to whom personal data are transferred, how long we will retain them, and what rights you have in relation to your personal data. I. Who we are (controllers of personal data)
The controllers of your personal data are:

- Jiří Neubauer, attorney, registration number at Czech Bar Association 19865, with registered office at Hlinky 505/118, 603 00 Brno,
who practice law in the form of an association under § 14 of the Czech Advocacy Act under the common name Protega, advokátní kancelář.

II. When and for what purpose do we process your personal data
We process your personal data especially in the following cases:
- if you use our website akprotega.cz,
- if we provide you with legal services based on a concluded contract for the provision of legal services (hereinafter the “Contract”),
- if you communicate with us (e.g., by phone, email, or through the web contact form).
We process your personal data for the following purposes:
- fulfillment of the Contract, i.e., providing legal services and other activities under the Contract,
- handling your inquiries and requests (applies, for example, to potential clients who have submitted inquiries or requests through the web contact form),
- fulfillment of legal obligations imposed on us by valid legal regulations.
III. What personal data do we process
Personal data refers to all information about an identified or identifiable natural person. In the cases mentioned above, personal data are processed to the extent necessary for the provision of agreed legal services.
Depending on the specific case, the processing of the following categories of personal data may occur:
- identification data (name, surname, academic title, date of birth, or personal identification number),
- contact details (phone number, email address, permanent address, contact or billing address),
- information about the financial situation, bank accounts, information about ongoing / completed / threatened judicial / enforcement / administrative proceedings,
- information about potential criminal proceedings and criminal cases, data from documents submitted by the client, information about services provided, and
- other personal data necessary for the fulfillment of the Contract with the client.
IV. Duration of processing of your personal data
Personal data of clients will be processed for the duration of the validity of the Contract, and after its termination, they will be handled in accordance with applicable legal regulations, especially Act No. 85/1996 Coll. (Advocacy Act), Act No. 499/2004 Coll. (Archiving and Registry Act, and amendments to certain laws), and Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (GDPR).
Personal data of potential clients or other individuals will be processed until the conclusion of the Contract, and if the Contract is not concluded, for a period of three years from the first contact.
V. Other entities that may have access/may process your personal data
In some cases, and if reasonable and appropriate, certain other entities may have access to your personal data, especially:
- Public authorities (e.g., courts, administrative authorities),
- Contractual partners of one of the attorneys of Protega, a law firm, especially:
- AVE Soft s.r.o., ID: 25378392, with registered office at Dostálova 882/63, 713 00 Ostrava,
- Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmont, WA 98052, U.S.A., and,
- if necessary, other contractual partners on an ad hoc basis,
- other entities according to the needs and instructions of clients.
VI. Essential information and your rights
Right of access to personal data. This means that you have the right to obtain information from the above-mentioned controllers about how and in what manner your personal data are processed.
Right to rectification. This means that you have the right to request the correction/supplementation of personal data that are processed inaccurately or incompletely.
Right to erasure. This means that if you request the erasure of your personal data, we will erase your data if they are no longer needed for the original purposes of processing, your consent to processing has been revoked (if the data were processed based on consent), there are no other legal grounds for processing your personal data, or the processing was done unlawfully.
Right to restriction of processing. This means that you have the right to request the restriction of processing of your personal data. Against processing based on the legitimate interests of the controllers, third parties, or is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority, you have the right to object at any time.
Right to data portability. This means that you have the right to obtain the personal data you provided to the controllers. You can subsequently transfer this data to another controller, or if technically feasible, request that the controllers transfer it among themselves. This right is limited to the extent that the rights and freedoms of other persons could be jeopardized by this action.
